What is carved on this 54+1 japa mala?

Each 15mm tulsi bead of this japa mala is carved with the holy name Sita Ram, with 54 counting beads plus one sumeru. So every bead you turn during japa carries the divine name in both touch and sight.

How do I complete 108 counts with a 54 bead mala?

Simply do two rounds. Move one bead per mantra until you reach the sumeru, then turn the mala around and come back, without crossing the sumeru. Two passes of this 54+1 mala give the full traditional count of 108.

How should I maintain these carved 15mm beads?

The mala is original tulsi wood, hand-carved in Vrindavan by Brajwasi artisans. Keep it dry, store it in a japa bag between sittings, and avoid perfume, oil, and water so the Sita Ram carving on each bead stays clear.
