Why are the beads of this japa mala brown?

The beads take their rich brown colour from a traditional treatment with original ghee, not from paint or chemical dye. Underneath is genuine tulsi wood in a big 13 to 14mm size.

How does the 13 to 14mm size help in japa?

Big beads move distinctly under the thumb, so you never lose count mid-mala. The 13 to 14mm size suits long naam jaap sittings and anyone who finds small beads fiddly, including elder sadhaks.

Will the ghee colour of these beads fade?

The ghee-derived tone is absorbed into the tulsi wood and deepens gracefully with handling. Keep the mala away from water and perfume, store it wrapped in cloth, and the warm brown finish will only mature.
